We have been re-thinking the London terraced townhouse for 20 years and this is our latest refinement. Key elements include forming a matt steel and bronze staircase in a new position. This connects the four floors emphatically, gives views of the garden through a double-height window, admits abundant light and makes moving through the house a special experience. The young family now have a spreading, open, garden-level living room – with a three-meter ceiling height – extensive storage, terraces, fireplaces, and beautiful night-time lighting.
