Port Fairy Guest House

This house was designed principally for the use of the clients’ family and friends. It works for the Australian beach lifestyle; relaxed family days at the seaside and elegant evenings for the grown-ups. Cut into the crest of a sand dune, the ground floor has garaging, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The centre level is a long, open living, dining and kitchen space and is like a pavilion suspended in the tree-tops. The second floor study is a belvedere with far-reaching views to the ocean on two sides. All levels are linked together by a triple-height space containing the finely finished steel and timber staircase.
