White Cottage

Our client had a long-held dream of building a modern house in a lyrical countryside setting. Our design of two rectangular forms in counterpoise gives maximum privacy from road and footpath but opens fully to the drama of the mature woods. Careful zoning separates owner from guests at either end of a high, open and dramatic living space. The pool feels in the woods. Timber cladding is sustainable, maintenance free and is a natural addition to context. Planning permission was granted on first application after engagement with neighbours and stakeholders.
